

BioBasque and its members participate in a variety of international and Spanish networks, apart from the already mentioned HUPO, IASP, EBN, CONNECT, etc. Some examples:
EuropaBio: the European Association for Bioindustries (http://www.europabio.org) promotes an innovative and dynamic biotechnology-based industry in Europe. BioBasque is one of the 6 bioregions associated.
CEBR: the Council of European BioRegions (http://www.cebr.net) is a network of organisations that support their local biocommunity through direct services including networking, incubation, partnering and cluster promotion.
EuroTransBio (http://www.eurotransbio.net): One of the ERANET programmes, an initiative born from the will of some European member states and regions to work together in order to support trans-national R&D private/private and private/public co-operations between companies, especially SMEs, and academic labs by coordinating their national or regional public funding programmes. The Basque Country is one of the founders of this network.
Network in Mental Disorders (REM-TAP): One of the Cooperative Networks in Biomedicine supported by the Ministry of Health, it is consortium of 15 institutions with participation of the University of the Basque Country and the Hospital Santiago Apóstol. It is linked to the Brain Bank in the UPV/EHU, and undertakes studies on schizophrenia, depression, addiction and bipolar disorder.
