On 13 March last, the firm from Alava, A&B Laboratorios de Biotecnología, was a finalist in the 6th Edition of the European Business Award for the Environment 2007-2008, Spanish Section, in the Sustainable Product Award category.

The company had already won the Management Award for Sustainable Development in the Basque section of the awards, which took place on December 5, and was a finalist in the Product category. These awards recognize the company as one of the most advanced from an environmental point of view.

A&B Laboratorios de Biotecnología’s entry to the Award is its latest innovation, the “Limpiador Multiusos Enzimatico - DD 456” (Multiuse Enzymatic Cleaner), based on ecodesign methodology, which has allowed the conception of a product which combines enzymatic biological properties with the most rigorous environmental requirements of the European Union, making it the first product from the Basque Country to obtain the ”European Eco-label”.

The presentation of these awards is before those of the Environmental Award on a European level, which takes place in June of this year in Brussels, as part of the Green Week and at which A&B Laboratorios de Biotecnología will represent the State.
