The Basque company A&B Laboratorios de Biotecnología, as part of the AGB Biotech corporation, has started an expansion process in the European market aiming at increasing its export rate up to 20% of the company's total turnover in the coming years. So far, their products are sold in Italy and the Czech Republic, where is expected to reach 7% turnover by the end of the year.

A&B Laboratorios de Biotecnología is a technology-based company that designs, produces and markets chemical and biological products for industrial use in general, and more specifically for the agro-food industry, institutions and collectivities. The company is a major manufacturer or products meeting the EU Ecolabel standards; moreover, it was the first company attaining the Ecodesign certification in its industrial sector and it has won the European Environmental Award twice.

The combination of clean technology and biotechnology positions it as a skilled supplier of new alternatives to polluting raw materials. A&B Laboratorios de Biotecnología has more than 300 bacterial and fungal strains from which enzymes and other biological products are produced. It has a portfolio with 214 product references distributed into cleaning and disinfection, waste and recreational water treatment as well as other products for industrial maintenance.

The company is located at the Jundiz industrial estate in Alava, has an annual turnover of approximately 5,6 million euros and a staff made up of 42 persons, of which more than 20% are devoted to research, development and innovation tasks.
