BIC Gipuzkoa Berrilan, established in December 1993, as a Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) with the mission of supporting the creation of enterprises in Gipuzkoa, has been awarded a prize by the Dutch organization Science Alliance for its capability to nurture new enterprises. The Basque organisation has gained special recognition for having achieved the fastest rate of growth amongst the enterprises that it has promoted and for the generation of employment in them.

This recognition has placed BIC Gipuzkoa Berrilan above firms such as Wallonia Space Logistics or Wales Digital Media Initiative. As representatives of the firm from Gipuzkoa explain “the award is a just reward for the path that we began three years ago with the expansion of our facilities, which was a leap forward in our capability to innovate”.

BIC Gipuzkoa Berrilan is a member of the Basque Network of Business and Innovation Centres, also belongs to the European Business Network (EBN) and the Spanish (ANCES) network. At present, the company provides facilities and services for 23 innovative and technology-based companies.

Science Alliance is an organization of Dutch origin which has been working since 1997 as an intermediary to foster communication between universities and various external players, such as companies and society.
