The Basque biocompany Biobide is one of the four companies from around the world to win an award in the Bio Buzz 2009 initiative, an event promoted by the organizers of the Bio 2009 convention, the most important international event in the biosciences sector, whose current edition is to be held in Atlanta (U.S.A.) from 18 to 21 Mayo.

With this award, the judging panel of Bio Buzz 2009 wants to highlight, among other aspects, the new technical contributions, quality of the presentation and soundness of the ideas provided by this Basque biocompany located in the Miramón Technology Park (San Sebastián).
As part of this award, Biobide will have the opportunity to present its research projects in the BIO Business Forum at BIO Atlanta 2009 in front of a considerable number of industry company leaders by means of a marketing campaign.

Biobide is a pioneering company in the biotechnology field that specialises in the automated High Throughput Screening (HTS) of potential new drugs. Its aim is to introduce a different screening concept onto the market, based on the zebrafish animal model. In order to do this, the company from Guipuzkoa has modern facilities, including a zebrafish fish tank housing up to 150,000 adult zebrafish.
