DRO Biosystems markets a new system for the analysis of 3D cell cultures

October 22, 2010

DRO Biosystems

The Basque company DRO Biosystems has launched a new product called 3D cell view ™ system, which consists of a system for 3D analysis of cell cultures. This system will facilitate in vitro detection of tumour formation, cell interactions and other related phenomena, such as angiogenesis, which require the formation of 3D structures to develop.

The product has multiple applications, from tissue engineering to toxicology studies of new drugs, covering direct observation of carcinogenic activity and protein expression.

3D cell view ™ system will be commercialised as single-use disposable devices compatible with standard laboratory equipment. The product is based in proprietary technology developed by the company and patented in over 45 countries.

DRO Biosystems develops the technology to produce biotherapeutic substances applied to the design of manufacturing processes and devices for the production and purification of the said substances. Thus, it meets the demand of biotech companies, pharmaceutical laboratories and university research groups through manufacturing contracts and development and transfer of manufacturing processes.

Recently, the company has signed an agreement with the Chilean company Ayslab for the distribution of their services for the development and production of biopharmaceuticals in the South American country. They are also making important advances in veterinary vaccines, a very developed market in this country, and the first agreements are expected to be signed shortly.
