The Basque company DRO Biosystems has started the internationalisation stage for its technological products with the commercial launch in US of its new product 3D cell view ™ system, which was placed on the market only two months ago.
In this preliminary internationalisation stage, DRO Biosystems has been supported by a global distribution network, having reached distribution agreements in the USA, Europe and South America.
DRO's first US client, the Johns Hopkins University, is the first university in the United States devoted to research and it will use the product to automate control methods using 3D image analysis of cell cultures.
The 3D cell view™ system will easily enable detection of in vitro tumour formation, cell interactions and other related phenomena, such as angiogenesis, which requires the formation of 3D structures to develop. The product has multiple applications, from tissue engineering to toxicology studies of new drugs, covering direct observation of carcinogenic activity and protein expression.
The internationalisation of technological products developed by DRO Biosystems from proprietary and patented technology is a step forward towards a stronger business model. This model creates knowledge and markets products using proprietary technology; the product portfolio brings new solutions and applications for the niche market dealing with the development of biopharmaceuticals.
