NorayBio, the biotechnological company, consolidates its internationalisation process with two new commercial agreements

NorayBio, a Basque bioinformatics company that designs, develops and implements software for the biotechnology sector, has recently achieved two important milestones in its internationalisation strategy: its first contract on the Asian market and a distribution agreement in Switzerland and Italy.

In the first case, the agreement is for the sale of Noraymet BioEquiv software to the ‘Center for Bioequivalence Studies and Bioassay Research’ (CBSBR) at Karachi University, one of Pakistan’s most important centres. The software made by this company, which belongs to the Noray Biosciences group, will enable the Pakistani centre to increase the tools used for the analysis of bioequivalence studies for generic drugs. Unlike other software, Bioequiv allows the necessary pharmacokinetic calculations and statistical tests to be performed to conclude whether the new drug can be considered as generic.

The ‘Center for Bioequivalence Studies and Bioassay Research’ (CBSBR), founded in 2006 and belonging to Karachi University, is the first centre in the country to offer bioequivalence studies for generic drugs. The centre will be able to conduct bioequivalence assays for international and national pharmaceutical laboratories and has consultants in America, Germany, Canada, Jordan and Geneva, along with a team specialising in developing bioequivalence assays.

On the other hand, the signing of an agreement with Pharmasafe, a Swiss company specialising in providing project management and consultancy services to the pharmaceutical sector in the drug development clinical and pre-clinical phrases, will enable NorayBio to enter the Swiss and Italian biopharmaceutical market. Thanks to the agreement and contacts that Pharmasafe has with its clients, pharmaceutical laboratories and CROs (Contract Research Organizations), NorayBio will be able to expand its network of potential clients in Italy and Spain. This will help to boost sales of the Noraymet ADME software, one of the most important products in the NorayBio biopharmacy line.

Since it was set up in 2002, NorayBio has set its sights on the international biotechnological market, a fact that has been reflected in various contracts with clients in countries such as the United Kingdom, Germany or Italy, along with other commercial agreements with European companies that enable the company to enter new markets. During the recent BIO fair in San Diego, negotiations also got underway with companies from South-west Asia and the United States with a view to future agreements.
