With the aim of offering services for protecting industrial property in the biotechnology sector, Patenta, an agency especially geared towards this sector, has started up recently in Euskadi. Its guiding purpose is to promote innovation and to show industrial property as a key tool in the evolution of each entity involved in knowledge.

The project was originated in close co-operation with CIC bioGUNE and CIC biomaGUNE research centres, given that some of their researchers will study the viability and potential applications of patents, covering the fields of molecular and genetic biology and of nanotechnology, amongst others.

Thus Patenta offers a complete and close-at-hand service from its premises in Miramon Technology Park – so that businesses, universities, hospitals and individual persons can get advice on patents, brand names, industrial designs, domain names and data protection.
